Safeguarding Information
At West Ashtead Primary Academy we adhere to all national and local polices in regard to Safeguarding Children and Young People. West Ashtead is committed to gender, racial, religious and disability equality in every part of school life. West Ashtead is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
For information about What to do if you're worried a child is being abused, please read the guidance document as published by the DfE.
The LEO Academy Trust Safeguarding and child protection policy is written in collaboration with all DSL's across the Trust. As such this is the policy we follow at West Ashtead.
At West Ashtead Primary Academy the safety and welfare of our pupils is of the utmost importance.
All adults working in the school have a duty to protect children/young people from all forms of harm and abuse as set out in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019’.
The school’s policy and procedures also accord with:
- "Working Together to Safeguard Children” (HM Government, July 2018).
- ‘What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused’ (HM Government, March 2015)
